it took Nicolas at least 4 days to warm up to my Mom, but after that he loved my Mom - especially when she was feeding him! :) (Dec 12th)
I had a car appointment on Monday, Dec 13th and our car shop is close to the Mall of America, so we spent the morning hanging out there; this is Lucas and Matias in front of a Christmas display
we got to go on one ride - Lucas loved it but Matias wasn't so sure, one more way Lucas is more like me and Matias like Zeke!
Nicolas enjoying our awesome new stroller (thanks again Mom & Dad!)
the Lego store also fixed up their store and play area so we spent a lot of fun time there
Lucas loved this huge robot
on the way home, we took the back roads and decided to make a quick stop at Lake Calhoun (does that bring back memories Monika?!) this is a stop sign for the bike/walking path - it's almost completely covered
Lucas and I braved the frigid temps and wind and the deep snow to make it out and say that we walked on the ice
us by the lake with a view of Minneapolis
the temps seriously must have been below zero, especially with the windchill - it was SO frigid
one day we took the boys to the Science Museum- here they are enjoying the musical steps before we got to go see"The Hubble" in their IMAX theatre (Dec 14th)
there were some cool geometrical shapes that they could climb on
my Mom helping Nico take some steps
the most embarrassing part of the day was while we were letting the boys run around this dinosaur area (and the play area in the picture below); my mom and I were talking for about 1 or maybe 2 minutes when all of a sudden we didn't see Nicolas and a few seconds later we heard an alarm go off! Nicolas had crawled into one of the dinosaur skeleton exhibits!!! Luckily the museum was practically empty and we got him right away, but a few museum employees came out to see what was going on
another day out in the snow with my Mom (Dec 16th)
playing Memory with Grandma before bed
our last adventure of her trip was an afternoon at the beautiful Como Conservatory (Dec 17th)
some beautiful flowers
they had a beautiful Christmas poinsettia display
playing in the kids area before heading home!
the boys love their grandma!
Lucas and Matias requested these last two pictures
