Two weeks ago, we had a super fun Saturday (Sept 25th). In the morning, we went apple picking at Emma Krumbee's Orchard. There was also a Scarecrow Festival going on at the orchard so we stayed for that and did a lot of fun activities like a rope maze, barrel train ride, playing on a hay pile and a tractor ride. When we were done at the festival, we started heading home, but it was such a beautiful day so we decided to get some lunch and then head to the Arboretum. We had lunch at Tommy's Malt Shop and it was delicious. Nicolas had his first taste of a malt and was in heaven. The Arboretum, like always, was gorgeous especially since the leaves had just started turning. It was hard to not include all the pictures, so be prepared for lots!

Matias preferred eating the apples to just picking them
look at that beauty! we picked Haralson apples, they're pretty tart and we decided best for apple pies or dipping in a caramel sauce
Nicolas' first time eating a whole apple - he absolutely loved it!
Zeke and I can't get enough of that smile!
playing at the playground waiting for the tractor ride
going on a ride around the orchard
they also had hydroponic strawberries that you could pick but they were pretty expensive
back at the playground after the tractor ride
we all had so much fun jumping on the hay pile
Zeke even took Nico and Matias for a jump
going on a barrel train ride
the rope maze
Matias couldn't be bothered by the rope limitations :)
we did the maze a couple of times
the boys had so much fun running through the maze
some of our favorite Scarecrows - Spongebob Strawpants
Dr. Seuss with Thing 1 and Thing 2
Mr. Monopoly
they had these cool John Deere tricycles that the kids could ride on
the "giant" slide
'horsey' tire swings
our little farmer-to-be
another train ride
and more fun with the hay - this time Lucas got even more adventurous
having a hot fudge butterscotch malt for dessert - Nicolas couldn't get enough!
lovely fall squash
beautiful leaves
check out the beautiful trees in the background behind Zeke
look at those bright red leaves
there is always some cool art on display - I can't remember the title of this one, but it was something to do with appreciating nature and incorporating it into home design...
the sunlight through the leaves was so gorgeous
the boys love playing in these little houses
silly Lucas and Mommy!
Lucas was excited to see this butterfly - they've been watching caterpillars turn into butterflies at school and then releasing them
Happy Fall everyone!
