The Hernández Family: Trip to Maine - Another Beach & Bike Ride

After our hike earlier in the day (July 15th), we tried to find another sandy beach closer to home. We found a pretty nice beach but the weather wasn't too cooperative. It was kind of chilly and foggy, but we still had fun.

For our last adventure in Maine before we had to head home, we went for a bike ride in Acadia (July 16th). There are beautiful bike trails that used to be carriage roads. There are some paths where you can still take a carriage ride but we opted for biking! It was a little adventurous that day because President Obama and his family arrived Friday morning so getting in to Bar Harbor to rent bikes was crazy. And then the bike shop gave us bad directions on how to get to the carriage roads because they didn't realize that some roads were closed off because of the First Family. Lucas was going to ride on a tagalong with Zeke, but he did not like it at all. So he stayed with Zeke's parents and they drove to Jordan Pond to meet us after our bike ride. At Jordan Pond, there is a restaurant that is famous for their popovers so we stayed for dinner and their food was a little overpriced but still really good. I wish we could have spent more time bike riding and if we ever go back, I definitely want to explore more of the carriage roads.
