"Exequiel Hernandez, a fourth-year PhD student in the Department of Strategic Management and Organization, won both the best PhD Student Paper and the Best Practical Implications Paper awards at the recent Strategic Management Society meeting in Washington, D.C. He also was a finalist for the overall Best Paper award. The title of the paper is “Immigrant Agglomeration, Firm Heterogeneity, and FDI Location Choice: Evidence from the United States.” Hernandez’ advisors are Professors Aks Zaheer and Myles Shaver. "Zeke was in Washington DC last week to attend the Strategic Management Society conference. The above paragraph (and title for this post) was included in the Carlson School of Management's e-Newsletter this week. I'm so proud of him for all of his hard work and it was so exciting to hear when he won these awards! This paper is the basis for his dissertation as well.
He also got to see Mark, Serena and their girls, hang out with Emma and Vera and visit with his friend Scott while there.
Overall a wonderful week, though saddened with the news of Santiago's death as well as his best friend Bill's twin sister Katie's death.
