The Halloween festivities sure got drawn out this year! They began on Oct 18th with Lucas and Zeke going with Mitch, Jude and Emmett to the downtown library to see some old classic Halloween cartoons as well as do a project. The library has films for kids once a month so this time it had a Halloween theme and the kids were encouraged to dress up as well. They had a very fun time.

The on Oct 25th we had a Fall Festival party at our church with a Chili potluck dinner and trick-or-treating in the decorated classrooms.

They had a little parade of all the kids that were dressed up for everyone to see!
Fishing for candy in one of the classroomsOn Oct 29 we went to the Loft (our community center) where we were able to carve a pumpkin for free! Lucas was all excited to do it, but when he realized he had to stick his hand in the pumpkin to pull the goop out, he decided to let me do it all! I never did get a picture of the final product ... oops.

Halloween day was unseasonably warm and so we went to the Como Zoo with some friends.
Matias and a bisonLater that evening we went to the Ogden's for a spooky dinner and trick-or-treating in their neighborhood. Christa's sister Nicole and her husband Todd were also there!
Getting ready to go trick-or-treating!While the boys (Mitch, Todd, Zeke, Lucas, Jude & Emmett) were out trick-or-treating, Christa and I put Miles and Matias to bed and us 3 girls got to hang out and relax and give candy out to the 2 trick-or-treaters that came to their house!
Back from trick-or-treating; it was hard for Lucas to want to put his bag of candy down!In the craziness of trying to get the boys fed before going out trick-or-treating, I didn't get any pictures of what I or Christa made, but I did pull some pictures off of Family Fun (where I got my recipes) to show you what we had. Everything we made was super easy and of course kid friendly! Christa also made mummy dogs (hot dogs wrapped in breadsticks to look like mummies) and Nicole went and got some jack-o-lantern pizzas from Papa Murphy's which were also delicious.
