Exciting News

I've been waiting to post where we're moving so we could also announce the details on baby #4!  So for those of you that somehow didn't receive our "Christmas" letter on Monday, here goes:

We are moving to..............St Louis!  Zeke will be an Assistant Professor of Strategy in the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St Louis.  What a mouthful, huh?!  We're very excited.  We're hoping to move at the end of May/beginning of June because in July.....

.....we are expecting our fourth boy!  My due date is around July 11th.

Below is the full letter we sent out for those that might not have received it:
------------------------------------------

Rather than send a Christmas letter this year, we decided to wait until we knew more specifics about the changes we will be experiencing in 2011. So Happy Belated New Year! Here’s what’s happening with us:

Zeke is graduating this May with his PhD in Business Strategy at the University of Minnesota. After crisscrossing the US and Canada searching for a job, he has accepted a position as an Assistant Professor in the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St Louis! He’s excited to move on in his career and we’re excited to find a home and settle down. We’ll live there for several years, so we hope we get a lot of visitors (one of the musts in our new home is a guest room)!  It feels great to have made the decision so we can start preparing for the move…

…Because in July, we will be welcoming our fourth BOY to our family!  He’s a bit immodest though, because while at the ultrasound he showed us he was a boy right away.  We didn’t even need the technician to tell us and had a good laugh. We’re very excited but have no idea how we’ll come up with a name for him.  In keeping with the unplanned pattern set so far, our options would be “Octopus” (my nephew came up with that one) or “Octavius.” So our work is definitely cut out for us. (If you can’t figure out the “pattern”, keep thinking… J)

Lucas is 6 ½ and in 1st Grade. He still loves sports and is currently taking a soccer class. At school he loves writing stories and math.  While he does love school, he also wishes he could play at home all day. We have started watching all the ‘Star Wars’ movies with him (only one more to go!). His favorite thing to do on Saturday mornings is build Legos with Matías and Zeke. More than anything, he’s super excited to move to St Louis and live in a new home (with a yard and basement of course).  He loves looking at the house listings with us.

Matías is 3 ½ and his two favorite things are Lucas and Zeke. All day long he waits around for both of them to come home. He also loves soccer and insists on wearing his soccer shorts everyday – even over his pants. He goes to preschool once a week (my three friends and I take turns teaching) and loves going to ‘school’ just like Lucas.

Nicolas is 15 months and has been unanimously nicknamed the ‘troublemaker.’ He’s walking and is just so curious about everything! He’s always smiling though, so it’s hard to get too upset with him. He adores his older brothers and always wants to join in whatever they’re doing, which often causes trouble because it means breaking one of his brothers’ toys! Zeke and I laugh when he tries to join in on their wrestling sessions. We’re amazed at how well he kicks a soccer ball and how much he loves it!

It’s much easier to write about what everyone else is up to, but I’ll share a few things I get to do when I’m not keeping up with my boys.  I’m still singing with the Minnesota Mormon Chorale and am also in my third year on the Board of Directors at CSCC (the student housing complex where we live).  These two activities have been a big part of my life while living here and I’m going to miss them both a lot when we move.

We’re excited for the move to St Louis but we will really miss Minnesota and all of our friends.  We hope you can come visit us. But either way, we hope to stay in touch with all of you!

                                           Love,
Zeke, Kendra, Lucas, Matías, Nicolas and XY Combo #4
